Coconuts – One Year Ahead of Schedule

Coconuts – One Year Ahead of Schedule

Greetings!

We are excited to share with you a milestone event for southern Nicaragua. For the very first time ever, an organic commercial coconut farm has successfully produced coconuts and transacted its first commercial sale.

Precious Timber, S.A., planted its initial coconut farm beginning October 2014. The coconut variety being grown are Brazilian Green and Malaysian Yellow dwarfs. The young trees planted in 2014, have been diligently managed using industry best-practices, and were not expected to yield a first crop until October 2018.

Of the initial 15,000 trees planted, some 40-50 trees now exhibit young coconuts at various stages of maturity. On Thursday, November 9th, 2017, one hundred and five large coconuts were sold at a farm-gate price of $0.50 to a local vendor. This sale marks a harvest one-full year ahead of projection, and represents a selling price of almost 70% higher than originally estimated.

We are very excited to share this news with our family of private owners, as well as those that have visited and supported our expanding business model. We have enjoyed a tremendous season of perfect growing conditions in 2017, and look forward to sharing additional news in the coming months ahead.

Fulfilling Our Promise

There have been several additions to the agricultural space in Latin America the past five years, from start-up companies to high-pressure sales promoters. We have heard some very disturbing experiences and remind investors to beware.

It’s easy to build a flashy website and print professionally designed brochures, but the bottom line is can they deliver? The most important aspect of this alternative asset, like all businesses, is the people. When considering a portfolio allocation, be sure you select carefully and cautiously.

The best time to plant a coconut tree was four years ago… the next best time is today!

Thanks for considering us for your agricultural allocation.

Sincerely,

Alex Wilson, CEO
